Certain capital and non-capital measures of regional museums in the state of Salzburg are funded, including the design of museum spaces, acquisition and restoration of exhibits, structural measures for new establishments or restructuring, as well as special exhibitions, museum educational programs, and publications.

Description
The program "Support for Regional Museums" of the State of Salzburg provides subsidies to regional museums for both capital and non-capital projects with eligible total costs of at least 2,500 euros. Eligible applicants include legal entities such as associations, public institutions, non-profit organizations, and foundations. The objective is to enhance the museum offerings and sustainably strengthen the cultural infrastructure in the regions. The funding rate is up to 40% of the documented total costs; an application can be submitted at any time before the project begins. The program has been running since 2014 and is available indefinitely.
Funding is provided, among other things, for the design of museum spaces, the purchase and restoration of exhibits, structural measures for new establishments or restructuring – such as barrier-free access, storage, archive and office rooms, as well as sanitary facilities. In addition, special exhibitions, museum educational programs, promotional activities, as well as publications and documentation can be supported. A complete funding application including a cost and financing plan as well as a coherent concept in accordance with the Regional Museums funding guidelines is required. Expenses solely for the maintenance of ongoing operations are not eligible for funding. Payment is made after final verification of use and submission of all required proofs. This offer provides regional museums with the opportunity to sustainably further develop their collections and educational services and to strengthen the cultural heritage of the State of Salzburg.
