Funding by the Simonsen and Breyer Foundation

The Simonsen and Breyer Foundation is specifically committed to cultural and social projects in the municipality of Harrislee in the district of Schleswig-Holstein. Since its founding in 1994, which has been conducted under the current name following an endowment in 2001, it promotes art, music, education, and sports, and expands its engagement through grants for elderly care, family work, and disability services. Projects of various sizes are supported – whether one-time workshops, regular event series, or long-term initiatives. Eligible for funding are private individuals, interest groups, and non-profit associations with residence or headquarters in Harrislee. Through its continuous grant offerings, the foundation makes a significant contribution to the development of creative ideas and the strengthening of social cohesion in the region.

Applications can be submitted in writing at any time and should include a project outline with objectives, target groups, and a financing plan. The funding areas include art, music, education, sports, as well as initiatives in elderly care, family work, and disability services. A prerequisite for funding, in addition to alignment with the foundation’s purpose, is a properly completed application and proof of local connection by providing residence or association address. Due to ongoing allocation, approval is granted flexibly according to the individual schedule of the applicants. Selection decisions are made by the foundation’s board based on transparent evaluation criteria to ensure a fair and transparent distribution of funds. In this way, local actors receive reliable support for exemplary commitment and innovative projects.
