Description

The Foundation for Elderly Care within the Diaconal Work Würzburg e.V. continuously supports projects and initiatives in Bavaria aimed at preserving the dignity and enhancing the quality of life of seniors in need of care and support, as well as individuals with dementia. As a non-profit institution, it awards grants to non-profit organizations, public institutions, and private applicants who plan innovative care services or wish to expand existing structures. Examples of funded activities include visits by trained volunteers, the initiation of care groups, or creative leisure activities—both in residential care facilities and home environments. The goal is to provide tangible relief to caregivers and relatives, as well as to create an engaging daily life for seniors.

The foundation finances its work exclusively from the income generated by its endowment capital and additionally relies on donations and contributions. Since its establishment in 2004, it has served as a reliable sponsor in the field of elderly care & nursing, drawing on extensive experience in diaconal sponsorship. Applications can be submitted on an ongoing basis, allowing initiatives to be proposed and implemented at any time. Through collaborative partnerships with regional stakeholders, sustainable impulses for dementia care and outpatient nursing services are generated. In doing so, the Foundation for Elderly Care makes a decisive contribution to strengthening social infrastructure and ensuring dignified care in old age.
