Support for Addiction Services

The "Support for Addiction Assistance" program of the state of Baden-Württemberg assists public institutions in ensuring a comprehensive network of outpatient support services for individuals at risk of or suffering from addiction. The goal is to provide needs-based care for the population in the areas of health, social affairs, and labor & social services. By providing grants, a sustainable network of psychosocial counseling centers, treatment services, and low-threshold contact points is enabled, aiming to reach affected individuals early and provide ongoing support. The instrument of municipal networking, established in all urban and rural districts, promotes the efficient use of existing resources and strengthens cooperation between addiction prevention and addiction assistance facilities.

Eligible to apply are urban and rural districts that pass the funding on to providers of outpatient addiction assistance. Applications can be submitted continuously; there are no fixed deadlines for submission. A prerequisite for approval is the proper submission by the responsible authorities in the four regional administrative authorities. The funding is granted as a subsidy and can cover both ongoing operating costs and project-related expenses in the areas of counseling, treatment, aftercare, and digital support services. Through this continuous funding initiative, Baden-Württemberg remains a pioneer in municipal addiction assistance planning and enables a sustainable, inclusive care structure for all affected individuals.
