Description
The promotion of addiction prevention in Baden-Württemberg significantly contributes to comprehensive and life-world-oriented addiction support planning at the district and city levels. Public institutions, specifically city and rural districts, ensure coordinated local networking through the appointment and employment of officers for addiction prevention or municipal addiction officers. Funding requirements include, among others, proof of a municipal network for addiction prevention and addiction support, the professional qualification of the specialists according to specifications, at least 50% employment, and participation in quality assurance conferences of the municipal umbrella organizations. The funding amount is 25,500 euros per full-time position per year and covers exclusively personnel expenses for employed specialists. Applications must be submitted by March 31 at the latest of the current fiscal year using the prescribed form; a usage report is required for accounting.
With a project duration of twelve months, the grant offers the opportunity to strengthen municipal prevention structures and provide tailored services to those at risk of addiction. The grant is awarded annually upon application and is based on the available state funds. Timely submission of the application guarantees funding commencement on the first day of the month of application receipt; otherwise, it will be deferred to the month of application submission. Accompanying documents must include concepts for network work and proof of qualifications to sustainably improve the effectiveness of regional addiction prevention. The funding makes an important contribution to early addressing of addiction consequences and stabilizing the health and social structures in the state.
