Description
Purpose and Content of the Funding
This measure supports a non-profit advocacy organization in Vienna in sustainably securing its diverse activities in the field of equal treatment and protection against discrimination. Funding is provided, among other things, for the systematic documentation of international and EU law as well as national legislation, the preparation of relevant case law, and targeted public relations work. Advice to member organizations and training offers on legal issues strengthen the empowerment of discrimination victims. Additionally, legal opinions, shadow reports, and participation in monitoring committees are part of the range of services. A special focus is placed on strategic litigation and individual complaints to achieve judicial precedents and continuously provide expertise for legal development.
Funding Modalities and Requirements
The funding is granted in the form of an annual subsidy of up to €650,000 and covers the period from 01.01.2020 to 31.12.2025. Eligible to apply are non-profit associations or interest groups in Vienna that implement projects to strengthen the rights of discrimination victims. A prerequisite for approval is proof of the implementation of corresponding projects as well as the timely submission of accounts, interim reports, and other evidence in accordance with the funding agreement. Payments are made in four equal installments per year, depending on the submission and approval of the required reports. The aim of this funding is to sustainably promote social cohesion and democratic culture in Austria by consistently providing legal protection and comprehensive support to discriminated persons.
