Funding for Carcass Disposal

The funding for fallen animal disposal in Styria aims to eliminate environmental and animal health risks associated with BSE and to relieve agricultural enterprises. Within the framework of this grant, disposal costs for deceased livestock are financially supported. Payments are made directly to the Styrian Animal Carcass Disposal service, thereby indirectly benefiting the affected farmers through regional processing. This measure not only makes an important contribution to climate and nature conservation but also strengthens the protection of the food chain and public health.

Eligible for funding are companies in the field of agriculture and rural development that regularly submit invoices – monthly or annually – for the disposal of animal carcasses. Eligible expenses include all costs incurred for the proper disposal of fallen animals by the Styrian Animal Carcass Disposal service. For the application, invoices with a job list and details on the number of disposed animals are required. Since applications can be submitted continuously, disposal invoices may be submitted at any time. This open deadline arrangement ensures continuous financial support without administrative bottlenecks, thereby facilitating the implementation of sustainable and safe animal carcass disposal in the region.
