Description
The funding enables school groups aged 12 and above from all types of schools in Baden-Württemberg to plan and carry out excursions to memorial sites of National Socialist injustice within the state or up to 100 kilometers beyond. The aim is the political and democratic education of young people through direct engagement with historical learning sites. Grants cover up to 50% of travel costs, thereby promoting intensive access to the Nazi injustice through educationally supervised study trips. The subsidy is directed at educational institutions in the four regional administrative districts and applies exclusively to transportation between central departure points and the selected memorial sites – Dachau is also eligible to apply.
For the application, a complete application package must be submitted, including form V 9.2, a project description, and two quotes for travel cost estimation. The allocation of funds takes place annually upon receipt by April 1 and is subject to budgetary regulations. Careful preparation and follow-up of the visit, as well as cooperation with the memorial sites on location, are essential prerequisites for the grant. Interested school authorities and teachers can obtain detailed information on the application process and funding guidelines from the respective regional administrative districts. Through this support, engagement with the Nazi past is sustainably strengthened for young people and democratic commitment is promoted.
