Description
The state program for the promotion of municipal sports facility construction in Baden-Württemberg supports public institutions in the new construction and renovation of gymnasiums, sports halls, and outdoor sports facilities. Municipal sponsors such as municipalities, municipal administrative associations, districts, school associations, and municipally affiliated companies can submit grant applications annually by December 31 of the year preceding the funding year through the respective supervisory authority. The goal is the establishment and maintenance of versatile sports facilities that enable both school-related and club-related training and competition activities and are open to other user groups. Requirements include proof of public need, assurance of versatile sports use, compliance with building regulations, technical as well as safety and hygiene standards, and consideration of sustainable construction principles.
Eligible for funding at 30% are construction costs for new buildings and renovations of gymnasiums, sports halls, as well as athletics and multipurpose facilities (minimum investment volume €40,000). Excluded are swimming pools, facilities for specialized sports, spectator stands, parking lots, as well as land acquisition and development costs. Approval is granted by the locally responsible regional council and takes into account criteria such as public need, school and club use, and sustainable construction methods. For the application, among other documents, a financing plan, a cost calculation according to DIN 276, a construction plan draft, as well as the partial payment request and the subsequent proof of use must be submitted. Interested municipalities thus receive a reliable funding opportunity to realize modern, multifunctional sports infrastructures for schools, clubs, and the public.
