Description
Funding for Municipal Road Construction (LGVFG-KStB) supports cities, municipalities, districts, and municipal associations in Baden-Württemberg in the construction, expansion, and upgrading of the municipal road network as well as related traffic infrastructure. The program offers grants of up to 50% of eligible investment costs for land acquisition, construction, and planning expenses. Funding is provided for inner-city traffic routes of high importance, feeder and district roads, noise protection measures, crossing aids for cyclists and pedestrians, bridge modernizations, and the installation of charging infrastructure. A qualified technical concept or a noise or air quality plan is required for annual program inclusion and application submission by October 31. Relocation of stops, bus acceleration systems, or central bus stations can demonstrate their climate protection contribution through simplified calculation methods. Additionally, climate mobility plans or individual proofs for the climate bonus may be considered.
The funding aims to make mobility more sustainable, safer, and barrier-free, optimize traffic flows, and reduce noise and emission burdens. Municipal construction authorities coordinate with specialist planners during the tendering, approval, and construction supervision processes and document project success in the usage report. Applications and approvals are handled by the regional administrative authorities, which annually determine the available budget funds. Supplementary advisory services and mandatory construction site information boards facilitate public relations and contribute to transparency. Thus, the funding measure makes a significant contribution to the climate and transport policy development within municipal networks.
