Description
The Sports Event Funding supports Lower Austrian sports clubs, sports associations, and municipalities in the effective implementation of regional, national, and international competitions in both grassroots and elite sports. As part of Lower Austria’s sports funding offerings, the program provides organizers with the necessary resources to efficiently prepare personnel costs, competition organization, and technical equipment. The funding objective is the partial cost coverage for the professional execution of sports events in disciplines recognized by Sport Austria. The continuous submission option – at the latest one month before the event – ensures timely planning and enhances the attractiveness of the sports region Lower Austria.
Non-repayable grants amounting to 5% to 20% of the recognized eligible costs are funded; for priority projects (major sports events, children and youth competitions, green event standards, or cooperative events), the funding rate is up to 33.33%. Covered cost items include, among others, personnel costs, competition and organizational expenses, technical costs, rentals, security services, medical care, doping controls, travel, meals and accommodation costs, as well as marketing, media, and TV productions. Application fees, side event and prize money expenses, or costs already covered by other funding programs are not eligible. To apply, the completed application form, an event concept, an electronic budget plan, and for major events the information sheet “Application for Major Sports Events” are required.
