Funding of Administrative Assistants in the Compulsory School Sector

The funding of administrative assistant staff in the compulsory school sector in Tyrol aims to relieve teaching staff at public general compulsory schools through targeted support in administrative tasks. The resulting personnel costs are co-financed at 66.67% by a federal earmarked grant and at 33.33% by the State of Tyrol in accordance with the AdminAss Controlling Regulation. Additionally, this continuous program also covers the incurred administrative costs. The measure has been available indefinitely since September 1, 2023, and offers flexibility for individual adjustments of full-time equivalents based on school sizes and specific needs. Thus, schools with more than 200 students can utilize up to 0.5 full-time equivalents, schools with 80 to 200 students up to 0.25 FTE, and smaller locations up to 0.25 FTE – bundling of several locations is possible to optimize employment output.

Eligible for funding are public, legally competent school authorities of Tyrolean compulsory schools that employ administrative assistant staff in accordance with the provisions of the AdminAss Controlling Regulation. Eligible expenses include all personnel costs as well as associated administrative expenses. Applications can be submitted at any time, without deadline restrictions and without additional costs for application preparation. Prerequisites are compliance with controlling requirements and proper data reporting to the responsible authorities. The funding rate of 33.33% for the state share provides a reliable basis for long-term personnel planning and significantly contributes to alleviating everyday school operations.
