Funding of individual projects and annual activities in the field of district cultural promotion

Funding Profile and Objectives
The district cultural funding in Vienna supports both individual projects and annual activities that strengthen social cohesion and make cultural diversity visible within the individual districts. The focus is on neighborhood culture projects and intercultural initiatives that have a direct connection to the chosen district. Eligible applicants can be associations, schools, religious communities, as well as other institutions based in Vienna. Natural persons with their main residence in the city are also eligible to apply, provided that the planned projects cannot be carried out fully or at all without financial support. Funding is granted as a subsidy and can be applied for continuously, without restriction to specific submission deadlines.

Application Requirements and Submission Process
Several requirements must be met for a successful application: residence in Vienna, public interest of the project, and a clear connection to Vienna. Also required is a detailed planned vs. actual financial statement (in Excel; separated by funding amounts below or above €5,000) as well as an income-expenditure statement including an asset overview. Additional documents include the online form and a consent declaration if applying without ID Austria. From November 1 of each year, funding applications for the following year can be submitted, with continuous allocation without a final deadline. The processing is carried out by the Municipal Department 7 – Culture of the City of Vienna.
