Description
The permanent funding initiative of the City of Vienna – Education and Youth (MA 13) is aimed at non-profit organizations based in Vienna that implement innovative educational measures in adult education as well as extracurricular programs for children and youth. As a grant for the realization of projects in the public interest, it supports both clearly time-limited initiatives (individual funding) and the ongoing coverage of deficits (overall funding). Only realistically calculated measures that would not be feasible without this financial support are funded. A key requirement is the substantive, institutional, or geographic connection to the City of Vienna. Additionally, applicants commit to adhering to democratic and ethical principles, non-discrimination, and the lawful execution of all activities. Beneficiaries assume contractual obligations through ID Austria or a declaration of consent and submit proof of non-profit status, financial plans, progress reports, and official photo identification. Possible double funding with other municipal departments is prevented by clear exclusion criteria.
Applications can be submitted electronically at any time via the MA 13 online form and require the submission of a detailed income-expenditure plan, a project description, and, if applicable, an annual financial statement or asset overview. Following a positive funding decision, the grant is disbursed either in a lump sum or in installments; beneficiaries are permitted to use the funds exclusively in a frugal, economical, and purpose-driven manner. Finally, within defined deadlines, a usage report must be submitted, including progress reports, statistical data on participants, and financial documentation. The City of Vienna reserves the right to conduct audits, spot checks, and, in case of non-compliance with funding conditions, to revoke the grant and reclaim funds. Through this continuous funding, a significant contribution is made to strengthening the educational level in Vienna and to the sustainable development of non-profit educational projects.
