Description
The funding of high-quality research and development facilities in Vienna is aimed at companies, universities, and non-profit research institutions that wish to establish or acquire future-oriented infrastructure for basic or applied research. The objective is to strengthen the profiling and development planning of the participating institutions, to open up new research fields, and to advance the economic utilization of modern infrastructures. Both non-economic and economic forms of use are equally supported, facilitating coordinated cooperation between research institutions and companies. The budget of €60.06 million is continuously available until fully allocated; applications can be submitted on an ongoing basis. A prerequisite for funding is that the project is located in Vienna and that the infrastructure is assigned to a clearly defined form of use.
Only acquisition and setup costs for R&D infrastructure are eligible for funding. For application submission via the FFG eCall portal, a complete online cost plan is required, supplemented by a substantive project description, curricula vitae of all scientifically relevant project staff, financial statements of the last two fiscal years, letters of intent from the utilizing organizations, and, in the case of universities, a financing confirmation. The funding application must be written in English. Within three months after project completion, a technical final report, a brief summary for publication, and a final financial statement must be submitted. The financial aid is granted as a non-repayable grant and is provided without thematic restrictions regarding technology or scientific fields. The legal basis is the currently valid FFG Offensive Guideline.
