Description
The funding aims at the comprehensive expansion of all-day care services at public schools in Tyrol and is directed at providers of all-day school forms with public law status. The focus is on school day care for children and adolescents aged 6 to 15 – including extracurricular holiday care on weekdays. By December 31, 2033, 40% of this age group as well as 85% of general compulsory schools are to be provided with a needs-based all-day offer. Purpose-specific grants are used as start-up financing to support both investments in infrastructure and measures in the personnel sector. The expansion is intended to ensure reliable care from Monday to Friday until at least 4 p.m., and if needed, between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m.
Quality standards play a central role: qualified professionals must be employed for leisure care, group size may not exceed 25 children, and the spatial facilities must meet pedagogical and safety requirements. Contributions are socially tiered and oriented to the families' ability to pay. Investments must comply with the principles of thrift, economy, and appropriateness, while existing care services may only be restricted in exceptional cases. The federal states will prepare an interim report by the end of 2025 and a final report by the end of 2033 on the use of the grants. Continuous application submission is possible; the funding ends on December 31, 2033.
