Description
The state funding of North Rhine-Westphalia supports the installation of the basic infrastructure for non-publicly accessible charging stations at garage and parking space complexes. The goal is to equip contiguous parking facilities with at least ten parking spaces to be future-proof for electromobility. Eligible applicants are natural persons as members of condominium owners’ associations or tenants, as well as landlords, partnerships, legal entities, companies, and public institutions. Funded services include communication systems, civil engineering work, installation, grid connection, upgrading of existing connections, as well as electrical infrastructure up to the parking space including meters and protective devices. A prerequisite is proof of a funded charging point with a minimum charging capacity of 11 kW based on the Low-Emission Mobility Directive.
The grant covers 20% of eligible expenses, up to a maximum of 50,000 euros. Grants below 500 euros are excluded. The project duration is 18 months; applications can be submitted until December 31, 2026 (start of the deadline: February 1, 2025). Evaluation criteria include the local grouping of parking spaces, their age of at least two years, proof of minimum charging capacity, and completeness of the documentation. Required documents are an online application form, cost estimate, proof of rental or ownership status, business activity, and charging infrastructure. Approval is granted by the Arnsberg District Government. Timely submission of the application before the start of the measure is mandatory to ensure eligibility for funding and to advance the energy transition.
