Funding is provided for the construction of designed children's playgrounds and communal areas at residential buildings with at least four apartments, as well as the revitalization of existing playgrounds and open spaces in older residential complexes (older than 10 years), provided that building regulations and the children's playground ordinance are complied with.

Description
Funding for children's playgrounds and community areas in residential complexes with at least four apartments in Vorarlberg supports owners and developers with a non-repayable grant of up to 60% of the costs. Both the creation of newly designed play and open spaces as well as the revitalization of existing playgrounds in residential complexes older than 10 years are eligible for funding. The subsidy rate is €600 per apartment for the first 15 units and €400 per additional residential unit. Eligible applicants are companies and private individuals who comply with building regulations as well as the children's playground ordinance and implement the minimum equipment according to § 15 para. 1 AFRL (sand area, seating, toddler play equipment, and optional measures).
A prerequisite for funding is the binding designation of the play and community areas in the building authority submission plan as well as the reference to their designated use in the purchase contract. The commissioning of the measures must have been completed by 15.07.2025. Invoices for new constructions must be submitted within one year after notification of the first building completion, and for revitalizations within six months after completion. The application must include, among other documents, the form “Application – Children's Playgrounds and Community Areas,” an execution plan (photo or PDF), proof of commissioning, invoices with payment receipts, photos, a list of implemented measures, and a bank confirmation. The application deadline is 31.12.2025; the funding commitment depends on the funds available in the state budget.
