Description

The promotion of noise protection measures in Styria is aimed at owners and primary tenants of residential buildings whose main residence is directly adjacent to existing state roads or ÖBB existing railway lines and who are exposed to traffic noise of ≥ 60 dB(A) during the day or ≥ 50 dB(A) at night. The goal of the support is the effective reduction of road and rail noise emissions through the installation of sound-insulated windows and exterior doors as well as through the self-construction of noise protection walls. Both professionally installed noise protection windows and the installation of soundproof ventilators in bedrooms, as well as self-constructed noise protection walls, are subsidized. The funding rate ranges from 50% to 100% of the recognized expenses, but up to a maximum of €10,000 per residential unit. The funding is available to private individuals and can be applied for continuously.

Prerequisites for approval, in addition to proven primary residence use and at least ten years of ownership or tenancy, include proof of exceeding the noise limit values. Applications can be submitted at any time without a deadline. To assess eligibility for funding, the following documents are required: fully completed application form, registration certificate, land register excerpt or rental agreement, cost estimate for windows and doors, test certificate for the sound insulation value, as well as invoices and proof of payment. Evaluation is based on noise level, cost-effectiveness of the measure, and the date of receipt of the application. Processing and payment are carried out upon submission of the final invoices by Department 16 Traffic and State Building Construction of the Styrian State Government.
