Description

The focus of the funding is on projects that contribute to an efficient waste and resource management system in Styria. The goal is the targeted steering of material flows and the closing of closed loops to maximize the utilization rate of natural materials and reduce environmental impacts. Funded are projects, studies, concepts, investigations, and expert reports that pursue innovative approaches in environmental and nature conservation, research & innovation, as well as energy efficiency & climate protection. Eligible applicants include waste associations, municipalities, institutions, associations, private individuals, and scientific organizations. Applications can be submitted at any time regardless of deadlines, provided that the project start precedes the submission to ensure proper review and approval.

The grant covers up to 50% of eligible costs and requires a detailed project description including financial and timeline plans, information on participants, and the defined target group. Following a positive technical and financial review and the conclusion of a funding agreement, disbursement is made optionally in installments, with an advance payment of 50% of the funding amount possible after verified program commencement. There are no costs associated with the application process. The program, running since December 16, 2013, offers a reliable basis for innovative and sustainable measures and is aimed at all those who wish to contribute to achieving waste management goals in accordance with AWG 2002 as amended and StAWG 2004 through practical and scientifically sound concepts.
