Description

Funding Objective and Funding Subject
North Rhine-Westphalia supports the installation of stationary, controllable, and brand-new charging facilities at rental buildings as well as in condominium complexes. Grants cover up to 40% of eligible expenses (up to 20% for large companies), but no more than €1,500 per charging point. At the same time, grid connections and – depending on the project configuration – basic installations can be funded. All essential components are eligible for funding: charging station/wallbox, cables, power electronics, authentication and payment systems, load and energy management, as well as civil engineering, foundation, surface restoration, installation, and commissioning. The measure must be carried out by a qualified company in compliance with the Charging Station Ordinance, and the electricity required for charging must be sourced from renewable energy or self-generated renewable power.

Eligible Applicants, Conditions, and Deadlines
Eligible for funding are landlords and tenants of residential properties, owners of parking or garage complexes, as well as members of condominium owners’ associations. Freelancers, sole proprietorships, partnerships, and legal entities under private and public law may also submit applications. A prerequisite is proof of ownership or tenancy, professional installation, and the use of green electricity or self-generated renewable power. Applications can be submitted until December 31, 2026, with a project duration of 18 months. For the electronic funding application, among other documents, a detailed cost estimate, proof of ownership/tenancy, a PIN code for online application, and a project description according to the guidelines are required. The proof of use with a list of receipts and a factual report must be submitted after completion of the measure to receive the grant payment.
