Funding of sports medicine and sports psychology studies

The state of Tyrol supports, as a service for Tyrolean sports associations recognized by the Tyrolean State Sports Council, sports medical and sports psychological examinations on a subsidy basis. In the funding areas of health, sports, counseling, labor & social affairs, as well as culture & media, particular support is provided for the sports aptitude examination for children and adolescents aged 6 to 19 years, the medical performance diagnostics for junior and elite athletes from 14 years of age, as well as the sports psychological care for accredited competitive athletes and coaches. The goal is the sustainable enhancement of physical performance, mental strength, and health safety of athletes and coaches in Tyrol. Applications can be submitted continuously, and the guideline applies until further notice.

Eligible for funding are interest groups or other clubs with recognized membership in a Tyrolean sports association. A prerequisite for the sports aptitude examination, in addition to recognition by the State Sports Council, is registration via a recording list; likewise, performance diagnostics are made available once annually for domestic and foreign competition participants. The sports psychological funding offers a fixed subsidy amount per counseling session, with sports psychologists or mental trainers billing their fees through the association. The following documents are required for the application: recording lists for sports aptitude examination and performance diagnostics, as well as the application form for sports psychological care. The funding is specifically aimed at all recognized Tyrolean sports associations and their athletes and coaches who participate in international competitions, Austrian championships, or Bundesliga/Regional league competitions.
