Description
The Vorarlberg state funding for sporting events supports clubs, sports associations, and non-profit organizations in organizing nationally significant competitive events in performance and elite sports. The goal is to establish a sustainable sports and exercise culture from youth development through to the elite level. Flat-rate grants between €500 and €3,000 can be awarded per event, paid out regardless of economic success. Funding is available on an ongoing basis, with applications required to be submitted at least two weeks before the start of the sporting event.
Eligible applicants include all legal entities that organize competitive sporting events with a supra-regional relevance in the state of Vorarlberg. Evaluation is based on criteria such as event duration, infrastructural and personnel effort, sporting significance, the dissemination of the sport, as well as an additional sustainability bonus. A fully completed application form and a cost and financing plan are required for submission. Through cooperation with experts from “ghörig feschta,” the funding amount can be further increased for sustainably oriented events. With this support, the state of Vorarlberg contributes to highlighting major and youth sports events, strengthening the regional image, and making sport a unifying experience for athletes and spectators alike.
