Description
The state of Salzburg supports non-profit organizations and public institutions in the establishment and operation of day centers for seniors in the state of Salzburg. For each use of a day care place, a subsidy of up to a specified maximum amount is granted per visit to make the costs for persons in need of care socially acceptable. The goal is to enable seniors to remain in their own homes through a flexible and needs-oriented offer, to promote social participation, and to relieve relatives in everyday care. In addition to catering and nursing care, the day centers offer a variety of activities and counseling services to ensure a holistic care environment.
Eligible for funding are institutions that are not prohibited under § 31 of the Salzburg Care Act and that meet the requirements of the guideline for state subsidies for the operation of a day center. Applications must be submitted annually by June 15 for the following year to the Department of Care and Support of the Office of the Salzburg State Government. Approved funds are paid out based on the documented number of visits and require a funding application, proof of use, and a statistical report. Through this financial support, providers can establish a needs-based, quality-assured day care service that offers sustainable relief to both seniors and their relatives and strengthens the care of older people in their familiar environment.
