Description
The funding of bilingual and multilingual childcare facilities in Carinthia supports non-profit organizations, public institutions, and companies in compensating for ongoing operational deficits. Within the framework of this open-ended grant, facilities implementing bilingual or multilingual concepts receive financial relief. The Carinthian Kindergarten Fund aims to ensure high-quality, language-pedagogical care for children and youth, thereby contributing to education, labor & social affairs, as well as training & further education. Two disbursements per year on July 1 and December 1 ensure reliable liquidity and contribute to long-term planning security.
The funding is aimed at operators of bilingual or multilingual kindergartens who meet the legal requirements for the state kindergarten contribution (§ 21 para. 3 KG 1992) and employ kindergarten teachers with the special employment requirements (§ 6 K-KGFG). An integral part is the annual provision of at least 16 hours of advanced training and further education in the field of multilingual language pedagogy without financial disadvantages. A prerequisite is also the implementation of a sound language-pedagogical concept according to the fund’s guidelines as well as the collection of parental contributions at least at the minimum level set by the fund (§ 8 K-KGFG). Eligibility for funding is limited exclusively to operating expenses to cover the operational deficit. Applications can be submitted at any time; the decision on the funding amount is made annually by the board of trustees.
