Description
In Upper Austria, a grant program offers non-profit organizations, interest groups, associations, educational institutions, and municipal bodies the opportunity to implement projects and educational measures to promote environmental and energy awareness. Thematic priorities include education for sustainable development, initial and continuing training, environmental and nature conservation, as well as energy efficiency and climate protection. The goal is the sustainable development of society through efficient energy use, energy saving, and environmental protection. Funding covers up to 65%–100% of eligible expenses, up to a maximum of €20,000. Applications must be submitted before the project start and can be filed until December 31, 2025, provided that financial resources are available.
Eligible costs include personnel costs, material costs (e.g., brochures, printed materials), and overhead costs (up to 25% of eligible personnel costs). Excluded are investments in buildings and land acquisition, legally mandated tasks, commercial publications, participant fees, hospitality, as well as generally usable equipment such as projectors or PCs. Applicants must submit a complete application with approval from regional experts prior to the start of the measure and acknowledge the funding guidelines of the State of Upper Austria. Required documents include a completed application form, project description, financing plan, funding commitments, final accounting sheet, annual payroll account, and a detailed project report with sample copies. Selection is based on the contribution to increasing environmental and energy awareness, alignment with the SDGs and the State Environmental Program 2030, the quality of project planning, as well as the sustainability and cost-effectiveness of the measures.
