Description

Since July 2020, the State of Salzburg has supported innovative projects in the field of integration as a permanent initiative, promoting the social and societal participation of migrants and asylum beneficiaries. The aim of this measure is to provide the best possible support services, to intensify the integration process together with the population of Salzburg, and to include hard-to-reach groups. Projects in the areas of migration, social cohesion, democracy, work, and social affairs are funded through grants. The measure enables regional integration work as well as educational and empowerment projects or voluntary engagement in the asylum and integration sector. Efforts that facilitate participation in education, labor market integration, and cultural exchange are supported.

Applications can be submitted by associations, non-profit organizations, companies, individuals, and other initiatives, provided they are based in Salzburg and hold a valid residence permit. Eligible expenses include fees, materials, room rentals, personnel, as well as other material and structural costs. A balanced regional distribution and cooperative project implementation are central evaluation criteria. The funding application must be submitted no later than two months before the project start or by June 30 of the previous year for annual funding and must include a concept, a budget plan, and the completed funding application form. The decision is made by the responsible regional councilor. A written approval letter subsequently regulates the funding amount, disbursement, and accounting modalities. The proof of use, including an income/expense statement and activity report, must generally be submitted by March 31 of the following year. This funding offers a practical way to sustainably anchor integrative projects.
