Description
In the state of Salzburg, the Office of the Salzburg State Government supports non-profit interest groups, associations, and public institutions in time-limited projects and actions related to health prevention with a focus on physical activity and nutrition. The goal is the sustainable strengthening of the health of the Salzburg population through innovative measures based on the Austrian framework health objectives. Funding applications can be submitted annually by June 1st for the following year. The continuously provided budget funds enable, for example, physical activity programs in schools, health-oriented nutrition campaigns in communities, or interactive workshops for risk groups. The funded projects must serve the public interest and take into account gender mainstreaming as well as EU state aid law.
Personnel costs, operating costs, and other expenses directly serving the project purpose are eligible for funding. Evaluation is based on the criteria of equal opportunities, empowerment, setting approach, participation, sustainability, networking/synergies, innovation approach, added value, and evaluation. A causal connection to the state of Salzburg as well as compliance with the guidelines of the Salzburg State Health Directorate and the general funding guidelines of the state are prerequisites. The following documents must be submitted as proof: statutes or bylaws, budget and latest financial statement, detailed financing plan including in-kind contributions, written declaration for inspection and proof of use, as well as a declaration pursuant to the Data Protection Act regarding the publication of name and funding amount. After a positive preliminary review, the concrete application for state funds can be submitted in the following year; accounting must be completed by no later than March 31 of the following year.
