Funding objective
Vibrant centers, streets, and neighborhoods significantly contribute to urban quality of life and are indispensable for achieving climate goals. The program aims to strengthen the local supply function and the mix of offerings in the defined project areas Ottakring and 20+2, as well as to enhance the attractiveness of these areas through investments in ground-floor zones.

Description
Grätzelinitiative Vienna supports micro and small enterprises as well as founders in the Viennese project areas of Ottakring and districts 20 + 2 in strengthening the local supply function and fostering vibrant urban coexistence. The focus is on investments in ground-floor zones of commercial premises to implement shop window and portal designs, structural improvements, technical installations, and digitalization projects. Funding is provided as a non-repayable grant with a funding rate of up to 50% and a maximum funding amount of €10,000 per year and business location. The project duration is up to 12 months; project commencement prior to application submission is not permitted. Applications are processed on a first-come, first-served basis and can be submitted continuously from 01.01.2024 to 31.12.2025.
Eligible for funding are already established Viennese micro and small enterprises as well as business founders who operate or newly open a business location in a street-facing ground-floor premises in one of the two areas. A minimum project volume of €500 is required; eligible expenses include, among others, machinery acquisitions, structural measures, external consulting, training, marketing costs, material and supply costs, as well as rent costs for up to six months in the case of a new takeover of a vacancy lasting at least three months. For the application, among other documents, a De-minimis declaration, the latest valid annual financial statement or income-expenditure statement, and in the case of a new takeover, proof of lease and vacancy must be submitted. The Vienna Business Agency supports interested parties with free advisory services throughout the entire process.
