Description
The funding initiative Green!Invest supports micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Styria in the realization of productive settlement and expansion projects that align with the objectives of the European Green Deal. Investments in tangible and intangible assets that open up or expand long-term sustainable "green" business areas are funded. The focus includes, among others, renewable energy systems, recycling and timber construction companies, sustainable building products, e-mobility, sustainable production processes, organic food, as well as life sciences/medical technology. The funding regions cover Eastern and Western Upper Styria, the district of Graz-Umgebung, and Deutschlandsberg. Through linkage with the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), regional value creation is additionally strengthened, contributing to energy efficiency and climate protection.
As a grant measure, the funding rate amounts to up to 35% of the eligible project costs; the budget of the initiative is approximately 9 million euros. Applicants submit their applications electronically to the Styrian Business Promotion Agency (SFG) before the project starts. The deadline runs until June 30, 2027. The technical evaluation is conducted in accordance with the StWFG and the guidelines of the SFG, assessing, among other criteria, legality, economic efficiency, and degree of innovation. Green!Invest thus offers an attractive opportunity to combine ecological transformation and resource-conserving business financing, thereby developing future-proof markets in Styria.
