Description

Heating Cost Subsidy of the State of Tyrol supports low-income households in Tyrol in managing heating costs during the cold season. Private individuals with a valid primary residence in the state, who do not have a very high income and do not receive ongoing minimum security or basic supply benefits, can apply once for up to €500 per household. Residents of residential and nursing homes, facilities for the disabled, as well as student and pupil dormitories are excluded. The amount of the subsidy is based on the monthly net income of all persons registered in the household and can—within the framework of the respective guideline—be supplemented by an additional energy cost subsidy to counteract sudden price increases in the energy sector.

The application must be submitted in writing using the designated form from early July until the end of November each year to the municipality of residence or directly to the Office of the Tyrolean State Government, Department of Social Affairs. Required are proof of the monthly net income of all persons living in the shared household, income-relevant proof of adult children, a registration confirmation from the municipality of residence, and—for applicants in Innsbruck—an additional household confirmation. After positive review by the responsible authorities, the payment is made as a subsidy towards the heating cost statement. Interested parties can obtain further information on the current guideline of the State of Tyrol and view the application form at municipal service points or online.
