Description
The early intervention support in Lower Austria assists children with special needs from birth until entry into kindergarten (up to school entry in cases of sensory impairment). The goal of this performance-based funding is to achieve the best possible development of the child through individualized support measures, accompanied by professional advice and assistance. Parents and guardians are involved in the process and receive continuous guidance to optimally promote their children's developmental progress. Designed as a subsidy, the payment is made directly to the local service providers who address the needs of the families on site.
Private individuals with primary residence or stay in Lower Austria may submit applications at any time. A prerequisite is membership in the group of persons with disabilities according to § 24 NÖ-SHG, Austrian citizenship or equivalence, as well as the absence of claims to similar benefits under other regulations. The ongoing submission possibility allows flexible adaptation to individual support needs. Through this funding, the State of Lower Austria makes an important contribution to the early support of at-risk or impaired children and to relieving families in social, health, and developmental matters.
