Assistance for Social Care and Nursing, Lower Austria

The funding supports day-care and residential care, accommodation, and nursing for people with severe physical, psychological, intellectual, or sensory impairments in Lower Austria. The goal is to stabilize a developmental status that can no longer be improved, in order to counteract the loss of individual abilities. The subsidy is paid directly to the facility upon application and ensures continuous care in specialized institutions. Since applications can be submitted at any time, the program offers flexible funding opportunities without fixed deadlines.

The support is aimed at all persons with their main residence or stay in Lower Austria who belong to the group of disabled persons within the meaning of § 24 NÖ-SHG. A prerequisite is Austrian citizenship or an equivalent legal status, as well as the absence of entitlement to similar benefits under other legal regulations. Applications are submitted to the competent municipality, the district administrative authority, or directly to the state government. Submission of an informal application is sufficient as proof. Through the continuous availability of this funding, a contribution is made to social participation and the assurance of care quality, enabling those affected to receive not only physiotherapeutic and nursing care but also psychosocial support in qualified institutions.
