Description

The funding supports people in Vienna who have suffered physical harm due to intentional, unlawful acts of violence or who are survivors in the event of death. It reimburses all material and medical expenses in accordance with the Federal Act on Assistance to Victims of Crime (Victims of Crime Act) and includes medical care, orthopedic treatment, as well as rehabilitation measures. As an indefinite grant, replacement benefits are provided at 100% to cover immediate medical, orthopedic, and rehabilitative costs. Applications can be submitted continuously to the responsible Social Ministry Service, granting applicants access to financial relief at any time.

Eligible for funding are EU/EWR citizens as well as persons with lawful residence in Austria since July 1, 2005, provided they are victims of an offense punishable by imprisonment of more than six months, or survivors in the case of a fatal outcome, including coverage of funeral expenses. By combining medical care, specialized orthopedic support, and comprehensive rehabilitation, the measure helps to mitigate health consequences and promote the social reintegration of those affected. Applications are accepted regardless of income limits and property ownership, with full cost coverage minimizing the financial burden on victims and their families.
