Eligible to apply are professors and other independently researching members of state universities in the region. Funded are projects on energy efficiency, renewable energies, and climate protection, whose issues are relevant to the Schleswig-Holstein economy. The duration is generally 24 months; a small grant of up to €5,000 can be requested informally at any time. As a subsidy, the program covers 80% to 100% of eligible expenses (material and personnel costs as well as investments in equipment) and supports research projects with up to €175,000. The next uniform application deadline is November 1, 2025. Required are the application form, a financing plan, and the funding guidelines.
With its focus on applied research and the transfer of scientific knowledge into practice, the funding program offers a framework where innovations at universities and economic application come together. Evaluation criteria include economic relevance, the degree of scientific-technical novelty, the cooperative nature of the project, and the concrete transfer potential. This creates sustainable impulses for climate-friendly technologies and processes in Schleswig-Holstein. University members find here an attractive opportunity to implement research ideas in a practice-oriented manner while simultaneously strengthening knowledge and technology transfer. Further details on application documents and funding modalities are available in the funding guidelines.
