Description

The special measure Integrated Plant Protection supports environmentally friendly plant protection services, measures, and training in all federal states of Austria (Burgenland, Carinthia, Lower Austria, Upper Austria, Salzburg, Styria, Tyrol, Vorarlberg, and Vienna). Private individuals, companies, interest groups, non-profit organizations, as well as public institutions can apply for a grant under the thematic areas of Agriculture & Rural Development. The goal is to promote sustainable, quality-assured production through integrated plant protection, which emphasizes biological, biotechnical, breeding, and cultivation techniques and allows chemical agents only to the necessary extent. Agricultural enterprises, plant protection services, as well as advisory and educational providers are enabled to transfer the latest findings into practice and implement innovative, practice-relevant solutions.

The program grants an 80% subsidy on eligible expenses for personnel, material costs, travel expenses, as well as teaching and educational materials. The maximum project duration is 12 months; taxes, procedural costs, as well as financing and insurance costs are not eligible for funding. Funding requirements include, among others, an Austrian establishment, economic viability, professional suitability, and the consideration of all public funds. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) as well as large enterprises can benefit, provided the measures fulfill innovation content, sustainability aspects, and practical relevance. Funding applications must be submitted annually by October 31 (for the year 2024 by December 31, 2023); the guideline is valid from January 1, 2024, to December 31, 2029.
