Description
Intercultural Support (Ethnic Group Support) has been supporting projects in Vienna since 01.05.2023 that serve the preservation and safeguarding of autochthonous ethnic groups and strengthen intercultural dialogue between these communities. Initiatives that preserve the cultural heritage – languages, traditions, and rights of Slovenian, Croatian, Hungarian, Czech, Slovak, and Roma ethnic groups – and recognize diversity as a value are funded. The grant is continuously available and envisages a project duration of up to 12 months. Online applications can be submitted at any time. The funding objective includes the consistent preservation of the protective status of minority communities and the promotion of social cohesion through targeted intercultural encounters and events.
Eligible recipients include, in addition to associations, interest groups, and foundations, also companies, non-profit organizations, public institutions, and private individuals (excluding territorial authorities and public law entities). Personnel and material costs, travel expenses, fees, rental costs, as well as printing and media expenses are eligible for funding. Investments in real estate, retroactive costs, or expenses outside the funding purpose are excluded. Applicants must demonstrate reliability, submit a coherent financing concept, and receive a recommendation from the selection committee. In addition to the online application form, activity reporting sheets, the latest annual financial statement, a detailed cost calculation, and, for first-time applicants, the statutes must be attached. Rental and service contracts, publishing contracts, standardized job descriptions, or cooperation agreements are optional supplements that complete the application and document intercultural collaboration.
