Description
The Carinthian Biosphere Park Fund Nockberge supports scientific projects in Carinthia within the UNESCO Biosphere Park Nockberge that systematically research and document issues relevant to the biosphere park. The focus is on ecological, sociological, and economic aspects that contribute to the sustainable development of this alpine cultural landscape. Eligible applicants include private individuals, sole proprietorships, partnerships and corporations, cooperatives, as well as associations and organizations, provided they act as sponsors of projects worthy of funding. The continuous submission option allows for project start dates independent of time and responds flexibly to current research priorities within the biosphere park.
Funding is provided as a direct grant covering up to 75% of the eligible total costs. Eligible expenses include planning costs, construction costs, and other project-related expenditures; the maximum duration is 36 months. Decision criteria include the feasibility and biosphere park compliance of the project, its ecological and economic sustainability, and the reasonable amount of own contributions. Conditions for approval are the resolution by the Biosphere Park Committee, compliance with the funding guidelines, as well as the submission of official permits and a detailed cost and financing overview. Transparent accounting through original invoices and payment receipts ensures the proper use of funds. Project sponsors thus have the opportunity to contribute their expertise to the research and sustainable development of the Biosphere Park Nockberge.
