Municipality 360°

The free network offering of the German Children and Youth Foundation (DKJS) enables municipal administrations, political bodies, academia, and civil society actors to adopt a cooperative and integrated approach to municipal planning and governance. Under the motto “Cooperative and Integrated Planning and Governance for Successful Growing Up”, a nationwide exchange format is provided that can be used continuously without a maximum duration. Applications are possible at any time, allowing interested municipal institutions to become part of the forum regardless of fixed deadlines. The non-material support focuses on networking and professional exchange to sustainably further develop local strategies for strengthening child and youth services.

The focus is on building and maintaining a vibrant network of municipal actors from administration, politics, academia, and civil society. The goal is to unlock the potential of integrated governance concepts and collaboratively work on innovative solutions that ensure a good upbringing for children and adolescents. The offering includes thematic support such as workshops, events, and digital formats—for example, the Change Guide and a targeted fellowship program—that serve as catalysts and learning platforms. Municipalities thus receive continuous support in advancing their planning processes, benefit from the knowledge exchange among participants, and actively contribute to establishing a strong nationwide network for youth-friendly urban development.
