Reimbursement of costs for summons by an accident insurance carrier

The funding offer in Vienna is aimed at private individuals who are summoned by an accident insurance carrier for interrogation or medical examination and thereby incur necessary out-of-pocket expenses or proven loss of earnings. Since January 1, 2013, an unlimited subsidy has been available that precisely reimburses such direct costs. Within the thematic areas of social affairs, health, and labor & social affairs, affected persons can apply for compensation for expenses incurred in connection with the official summons. The funding objective is clearly defined: the full reimbursement of proven out-of-pocket expenses and loss of earnings to offset financial burdens resulting from participation in official interrogations or medical assessments.

A prerequisite for approval is a formal summons by an accident insurance carrier—whether as a party, other participant, or witness—as well as proof of all incurred costs and actual lost earnings. Applications can be submitted at any time; no deadline is set. Applications are made directly to the Federal Ministry of Labor, Social Affairs, Health, Care and Consumer Protection (Section II) or the responsible social insurance carriers in Vienna. Eligible items include exclusively necessary out-of-pocket expenses and proven loss of earnings. Thus, the measure offers straightforward and targeted support for all those who need to compensate for financial disadvantages due to an official summons.
