Description
In the state of Salzburg, free or low-cost vaccination campaigns are continuously offered to sustainably strengthen health protection for all Salzburg residents. On behalf of the Salzburg state government and in close coordination with the State Office Directorate for Health and Sports (Department 9/02), the costs for vaccines, vaccination fees, and distribution expenses are fully or partially covered in the event of current cases or seasonal disease outbreaks. The funding aims to achieve broad immunization within the fields of health as well as labor & social affairs, thereby minimizing the collective risk of illness.
All privately residing individuals in the state of Salzburg who are eligible for the respective vaccination program are eligible for funding. Requirements include proof of Salzburg residency and eligibility to participate in the specific vaccination campaign. To apply, the vaccination record (vaccination passport) must be presented, documenting previously administered vaccinations according to WHO standards. Since vaccination campaigns take place throughout the year, there are no fixed deadlines; utilization can occur within the specified campaign period. The funding is granted as a subsidy and covers eligible expenses – vaccine costs, vaccination physician fees, and distribution costs – to ensure a high vaccination rate and thus effective protection of the Salzburg population.
