Description
In Tyrol, there is an ongoing opportunity to relieve private residential buildings along existing ÖBB railway lines through a subsidy for noise protection measures on both the railway side and the building side. Funding is provided for planning services and construction costs for noise barriers and embankments as well as for the building side: the replacement of acoustically rated windows and doors and the installation of soundproof ventilation units. A prerequisite is the exceedance of immission limit values in living or sleeping rooms in buildings with a building permit issued before January 1, 1993. Applications can be submitted within four years after municipal notification, provided that no public funds have yet been used for noise protection measures. The eligible project duration is up to 72 months, and the funding rate varies depending on the measure between 50% and 100% of the eligible costs.
For an application, a final inspection or building permit decision, construction plans with room designation, detailed information on windows, doors, and ventilation units, a declaration of non-utilization of public funds, as well as a current land register excerpt are required. ÖBB-Infrastruktur Bau AG reviews the eligibility for contribution within six months of submission, calculates the cost contribution based on the valid reference values, and confirms the funding. After timely implementation and submission of invoices, the payment is made. Through the combination of railway-side protective walls and building-side sound insulation, residents can achieve a noticeable noise reduction and sustainably improve their quality of living.
