Description

The LAFVE General Support program assists young people from Latin America aged 20 to 29 who are pursuing a technical vocational training or a technically oriented bachelor's degree in Germany but are unable to afford it on their own. The aim is to enable the acquisition of professional qualifications through an individually tailored scholarship and ideal support, and to empower participants after completion to contribute to the social and economic development of their home countries. Through advisory, networking, and professional exchange offerings, the program fosters sustainable connections between Germany and Latin America and promotes equal participation regardless of gender, religion, or origin.

For approval, proof of German language skills (at least B1), a secondary school diploma, and personal maturity are required, among other criteria. Additionally, motivation, technical inclinations, financial need, and relevance to the skilled labor demand in the home country are evaluated. The funding covers scholarship installments for living expenses, health insurance, and travel costs. The amount of monthly support is based on individual needs. An initial funding commitment can be granted for twelve months and is extended upon proof of a training agreement. Continuous integration into a mentoring network ensures ongoing performance monitoring and personal support. Applications can be submitted at any time as there are no fixed deadlines, allowing interested parties to submit their documents whenever they wish.
