Funding objective

The goal of these measures is to prevent or reduce the health and social harms associated with the consumption of psychoactive substances or addiction disorders. These services aim to stabilize, socially integrate, or reintegrate substance users and individuals with addiction.

  • Recognition as a person with a disability according to §2 Upper Austrian Equal Opportunities Act in the current version
  • Main residence in Upper Austria
  • No receipt of comparable benefits under other legal provisions (except Upper Austrian Social Assistance Act 1998 and Upper Austrian Minimum Security Act)

Description

This funding in Upper Austria is aimed at adults at risk of addiction or with addiction disorders and offers a broad spectrum of abstinence-oriented and low-threshold support services. These include time-limited aftercare and housing options for substance users in acute crisis situations, outpatient addiction counseling for social, psychological, legal, and medical issues, as well as mobile care services in the home environment. The primary goal of these measures is the prevention and reduction of health and social harms caused by psychoactive substances, as well as the stabilization and social (re-)integration of those affected. The services are free of charge, and applications can be submitted continuously to the responsible district administrative authority.

Targeted are adults with alcohol and/or addiction disorders, especially those without a fixed residence or from unstable living conditions, as well as their relatives. The prerequisites include main residence in Upper Austria, recognition as a person with a disability according to the Upper Austrian Equal Opportunities Act, and the waiver of parallel benefit claims under other legal provisions (exception: Upper Austrian Social Assistance Act 1998 and Minimum Security Act). For the application, among other documents, proof of lawful permanent residence, the disability, as well as current income and asset statements must be submitted.
