Description

The Thuringian Engagement Fund “nebenan angekommen” supports neighborhood and integration projects throughout Thuringia with up to 1,000 euros per initiative. Eligible to apply are organized initiatives, associations, foundations, as well as public institutions with headquarters or operational scope in Thuringia that implement meeting opportunities for newcomers and the local civil society. The program aims to build trust through personal encounters, reduce prejudices and language barriers, and promote sustainable multicultural understanding. Projects are funded in the areas of education, social cohesion and democracy, culture, media, music, migration, social affairs, as well as vocational training and further education. The duration of approved projects is up to twelve months and provides space for creative formats – ranging from intercultural cooking evenings and language guide or learning mentorships to cultural and awareness workshops.

Funding is provided as a 100% grant and covers eligible expenses such as expense allowances, travel costs, fees, public relations, and material costs. Personnel costs, vehicles, as well as transportation of relief goods or related items are not funded. Double funding of the same project at multiple locations is excluded. Applications can be submitted on a project basis during the current calendar year until November 30, 2025; the only application document required is the completed and signed application form. Through uncomplicated application procedures and on-site support, the funding program easily creates the conditions to sustainably strengthen community cohesion in Thuringian neighborhoods and further expand solidarity engagement.
