Description

Lower Austria Educational Funding NEW enables employed residents of Lower Austria to receive flexible partial financing for job-related further education and qualification measures. With a funding rate of 80% to 90% – up to a maximum of €3,000 per person within three years – the state of Lower Austria specifically supports individuals without formal vocational qualifications, employees with compulsory schooling, self-employed persons, parents on parental leave, as well as public servants in manual occupations. The aim is to sustainably secure employment opportunities, strengthen professional qualifications, and provide qualified specialists for local businesses. The funding is granted as a subsidy and settled directly with the educational institution, eliminating the need for pre-financing. Applications can be submitted no earlier than 13 weeks before and no later than one day after the course start date and are possible as long as funds are available.

A minimum six-month primary residence in Lower Austria and German language skills at level B1 are prerequisites. The educational measure must be completed at a certified or recognized educational provider and concluded with an exam-based qualification (at least 75% attendance or successful completion). A mandatory education plan with provider-neutral educational counseling, an online application, an ESF master data sheet, as well as confirmation from the employer or proof of employment form the basic documents. Applicants agree to participate in an ESF co-financed project. After successful course completion, the subsidy is paid out in two installments. Interested parties can view details and retrieve the required forms via the online application provided by the state government.
