Description

With the Lower Austria Fisheries and Research Funding, FRV V, the Lower Austria Regional Fisheries Association supports external stakeholders in Lower Austria. The goal is the sustainable maintenance, protection, and restoration of a waterbody-typical and species-rich population of aquatic animals. Projects are funded along the priority axes of aquatic ecology, aquatic communities, as well as research & innovation, which also strengthen environmental/nature conservation and energy efficiency & climate protection. Fisheries district associations, non-profit organizations, public institutions, and private individuals can submit applications continuously before the project starts. The funding is based on the Lower Austria Fisheries Act 2001 and has been offered indefinitely since 07.01.2019.

The grant covers up to 75% of eligible expenses; the funding rate varies depending on the project volume between 2.5% and 75%, taking into account regional significance and the proportion of own contributions. Recognized costs include construction, planning, construction supervision, expert reports, compensation, and demolition costs; overhead costs, taxes, court or notary fees, as well as expenses incurred before the application submission are not eligible. A prerequisite is the submission of the application before the project start, complete information according to the application form, submission in duplicate to FRV V, and a valid water rights permit. To be attached are the project description, objective definition, time and financing plan, site and project plans, detailed construction description, cost estimates, and photos. Decisions are made based on regional relevance, expected success, cost-benefit ratio, proportion of own contributions, and the budget situation of the Regional Fisheries Association. A written funding commitment guarantees payment after successful project completion and positive evaluation.
