Description
The Lower Austria Student Allowance provides financial support in the form of a grant to needy students in Lower Austria. The funding targets children and adolescents from grades 1 to 5 of general secondary schools as well as the 1st grade of kindergarten pedagogy. A prerequisite is proven good academic performance and social need; based on this, the allowance aims to contribute to equal opportunities. Payments are made according to established guidelines and represent sustainable relief for families whose income and family size justify special support. Applications can be submitted continuously to the Office of the Lower Austrian State Government, Department of Finance, F1 – there is no deadline for submission.
Eligible participants are Austrian citizens or EU citizens with a permanent residence in Lower Austria. A funding commitment requires that the grade point average in the annual final report card does not exceed 2.80 and that no grade 5 is present. Furthermore, impeccable conduct must be demonstrated. The assessment of social need is based on family income and family size. By combining objective performance and social criteria, it is ensured that the funding reaches exactly where it is most urgently needed. Interested parties can at any time inform themselves about the applicable guidelines on the Transparency Portal and submit applications without a deadline.
