Description
Since January 1, 2014, the Lower Austria Traffic Safety Fund has been supporting measures for the sustainable improvement of road safety in Lower Austria. Grants are available, among other things, for traffic education, scientific studies and research projects, as well as for preparatory planning and orientation aids in the field of road safety. Interdisciplinary cooperation between research institutions, educational establishments, and municipal authorities is particularly encouraged, as it enables practical solutions and innovative concepts for all road users. The funds are used for specific purposes to reduce accident numbers and to strengthen awareness of the importance of safety-related measures in the long term.
Natural and legal persons are eligible for funding, including private individuals, companies, start-ups, non-profit organizations, public institutions, cooperatives, and foundations. Supported projects include workshops on traffic education, analyses of accident causes, technical pilot projects, as well as strategic site and traffic planning. Applications are accepted continuously until the budget is exhausted; applicants benefit from a straightforward procedure and individual advice from the Finance Department of the Lower Austria State Government. Due to its broad scope, this funding is suitable both for smaller initiatives and for extensive research projects that make a valuable contribution to traffic safety in Lower Austria.
