Description

Purpose of Funding and Target Group
In Vienna, individuals with severe primary physical disabilities receive individual support through a supplementary benefit to their care allowance. This is aimed at adults up to the age of 65 who seek an autonomous life in their own private household and do not require permanent professional care. A high degree of self-determination forms the basis for participation in all areas of life and provides noticeable relief for relatives. The funding is provided in the form of monthly grants paid into a separate trust account, from which personnel expenses and accompanying banking or tax advisory costs are covered. Material costs are excluded. The basis is care allowance levels 3 to 5 as well as proof of secured total income. Austrian citizenship or equivalence, main residence or habitual residence in Vienna, as well as sufficient self-management competence are further prerequisites for receiving funding.

Funding Volume and Application Procedure
The grant is based on the individually determined need for assistance hours and is paid out as one twelfth of the maximum annual funding amount. Multiple claims of the same type of service variant are excluded. Applications can be submitted at any time and require the submission of central documents, including a self-assessment of assistance needs, proof of care allowance, income, and registered address, as well as an official photo ID. If necessary, the selection process requires a personal interview with multiprofessional experts from the Fonds Soziales Wien. To document the proper use of funds, monthly usage reports are mandatory. Ongoing monitoring ensures transparency and cost-effectiveness, while allowing flexible adjustment of the funding volume to fluctuating needs.
